How to Choose Lift Chairs
Lift chairs come in a few lift styles: 2-position (recline partway), 3-position (recline further), infinite-position (stop anywhere, including a flat-ish sleep position), and zero-gravity (legs elevated above heart level, often recommended for circulation). Beyond the lift style, fit matters as much as features — measure the person's height and weight against the manufacturer's size chart, since a chair that's too small or too large won't lift and support them properly.
Common Questions
What do the different position types actually feel like day to day?
A 2-position chair is closest to a regular recliner with lift assist. 3-position adds a deeper recline for TV-watching or napping. Infinite-position lets you stop at any angle, which most people find most comfortable for reading or working on a tablet. Zero-gravity tilts your legs above your heart, which some people find helps with swelling or circulation — ask your doctor if that's relevant to you.
How do I pick the right size?
Check the manufacturer's size chart against the person's height and weight, not just "small/medium/large" labels — sizing isn't standardized across brands. A chair that's too narrow or too short in the seat depth won't recline or lift correctly for that person.
Do you bill insurance for a lift chair?
No — we don't bill insurance or any health coverage plan. Customers pay us directly, either through financing or out of pocket. See our Financing Guide page, or call us and we'll walk through the options for your situation.
