How to Choose Vehicle Lifts

The right lift depends on what you're transporting and what vehicle you drive. Hitch-mounted carriers attach to your vehicle's trailer hitch and carry a scooter or power chair outside the vehicle; inside-vehicle lifts stow the device inside a trunk, SUV cargo area, or minivan. Manual lifts cost less but require some physical effort to operate; power lifts do the work for you at a higher price point. See our Vehicle Lift Compatibility Check above if you want us to confirm fit for your specific vehicle before you buy.

Common Questions

Will a lift fit my car, truck, or SUV?

It depends on your hitch class (or lack of one), trunk/cargo dimensions, and the size of the device being loaded. Use the Vehicle Lift Compatibility Check form above, or call us with your vehicle's year/make/model — we'll confirm fit before you order anything.

Do I need professional installation?

Hitch-mounted carriers are often straightforward if you already have a properly rated trailer hitch installed. Inside-vehicle lifts typically need professional installation to mount correctly and safely. We offer installation — ask when you call.

What's the difference between a hitch-mounted carrier and an inside-vehicle lift?

A hitch-mounted carrier rides outside your vehicle on the hitch, so your trunk/cargo space stays free, but the device is exposed to weather. An inside-vehicle lift stores the device inside the vehicle, protected from weather, but takes up cargo space and generally costs more.

Not sure a lift fits your vehicle? Tell us your year, make, and model — we'll check it and call you back before you buy anything.

No hitch on your vehicle, or not sure yours is the right one? Hitch-mounted lifts need a particular hitch class to carry the weight safely. Tell us what you drive and we'll get the right hitch for it.
