For many families, visiting a mobility equipment showroom for the first time comes with a mix of emotions. There is the practical part — you need equipment, you want to make a good decision — and there is the more personal part, which is the acknowledgment that someone you love needs help getting around.
We want you to know what to expect when you walk through our door, so the practical visit is as easy as possible.
No Pressure. Genuinely.
We are a locally owned business that has been serving Lakeland and Central Florida for over 20 years. We are not a franchise with sales quotas. We are not going to follow you around the showroom or push you toward the most expensive option.
Many visitors come in just to look, ask questions, and get a feel for what is out there. That is completely fine. We would rather you leave with the right information and come back when you are ready than feel rushed into something that is not the right fit.
What You Will Find on the Floor
Our showroom carries a working selection of mobility scooters, lift chairs, manual and power wheelchairs, walkers and rollators, and stair lift displays. You can sit in the lift chairs, operate the scooter controls, try the walkers, and get a real feel for the equipment rather than making a decision based on a picture on a screen.
We carry products from leading brands including BraunAbility, VMI, Pride Mobility, Drive Medical, and others. Our staff will tell you honestly which products they would recommend for your specific situation and which ones they would steer you away from.
Bring Your Questions
There are no silly questions. The questions we hear most often include:
“How do I know which size scooter is right for my mom?” “What is the difference between a 2-position and infinite-position lift chair?” “Can my dad drive a wheelchair van himself?” “What would financing look like on this?”
These are exactly the questions our team is here to answer. We will take as much time as you need. If we do not know the answer, we will find out.
Bring the Person Who Will Use the Equipment
Whenever possible, bring the person who will actually be using the equipment. A scooter seat that fits comfortably for one person may not be right for another. A lift chair that feels perfect to a 5’4” person may not suit a 6’1” person at all.
We understand that is not always possible — sometimes the person who needs the equipment is not mobile enough to make the trip easily. In that case, we offer in-home assessments where one of our specialists will come to your home instead. Just let us know.
About Wheelchair Vans
If you are visiting to look at wheelchair accessible vehicles, the process is slightly different. We will walk you through the vehicles we have in stock, explain the conversion systems, and if appropriate, arrange a test drive. Van consultations often take a bit longer than equipment visits — plan for 45 minutes to an hour if possible.
